Citizen Science DNA Intern / Research Assistant — Natural History Museum of Utah

Sep 2024 – Present · Salt Lake City, UT

Coordinate and lead DNA extraction and education events for community groups and students, including outreach nights, youth workshops, and troop-based activities. Work with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories to sequence DNA barcodes and contribute results to GenBank. Support weekly team meetings, mentor a cohort of students, and assist with citizen science projects such as pollinator garden work.
